Can Running Adsense on Blog Video on Youtube?

Does Google allow us to create a blog with an embedded YouTube video (embedded), and monetize it using Google Adsense or any other ads-network?
I've done a little research to answer this question.

First, if the intended Youtube video embedded in the blog before, not a result of our own work, then I can say that it is unethical. Why? Since we do not have the right to use other people's videos commercially (for material benefits).

Yes, YouTube allow anyone to embed the video on any website, even Youtube provides a complete option to do so. However, that does not mean Youtube allows you to memonetis the outside Youtube videos.

Let's look at Youtube policies in this regard:

You agree not to use the Service for any of the following commercial uses Unless you Obtain YouTube's prior written approval:

  • the sale of access to the Service;
  • the sale of advertising, Sponsorships, or promotions placed on or within the Service or Content; or
  • the sale of advertising, Sponsorships, or promotions on any page of an ad-enabled blog or website containing Content delivered via the Service, UNLESS other material not Obtained from YouTube Appears on the same page and is of sufficient value to be the basis for such sales.

From here, it is obvious that we should not use Google Adsense or other advertising programs on the blog page that contains video Youtube, EXCEPT those pages has more VALUED THE CONTENT. You can not just rely on the Youtube video as the only content to monetize.

How the policy angle Adsense?

AdSense policy does not say anything directly relating to the monetization of Youtube videos. However, the policies on copyright can be a foothold.

And this is the sound of AdSense policies on copyright:

  • AdSense publishers may not display Google ads on webpages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content.

  • This includes sites that display copyrighted material, sites hosting copyrighted files, or sites that provide links to drive traffic to sites that contain copyrighted material.
So, if you display Adsense on a page containing an embedded YouTube video, then first of all you need to make sure the video itself does not violate the copyright policy of Adsense.

Yes, very possible someone posted a video that violates the copyrights of others. But this simply can not be the reason you can take reasoned violate or do not know about this copyright policy.

And policy-based Adsense, if you put Adsense on pages with copyrighted video, it is very risky violate Adsense account and tipped banned.

Conclusion

Based on the policy of Youtube, you should use Adsense or other advertising programs on your blog, if the page have more text content as an extra.

Create a blog that is running ads, and it contains an embedded YouTube video on it, is a violation of YouTube policies.

In other words, if you have other valuable content, and embedded videos from Youtube only as a complement to the content, then you should advertise in it. Embed the video itself is not an offense.

For more convenience, before you put Adsense ads on your video blog, ask yourself:

Whether you can put Adsense ads without their embedded videos from Youtube? If the answer is yes, then you should use Adsense on the page with the video on Youtube.

Well, hopefully this answer can answer your doubts, especially for the questioner about whether or not allowed to run Adsense on a blog videos from Youtube.
